Residents Protest Alleged Police Excesses in Tando Adam

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Residents of Bismillah Colony in Tando Adam staged a protest against alleged police excesses, raising slogans against a lady constable and staff of the City police station while demanding justice and protection.

A large number of men and women, including Suraiya Rajput and her daughter-in-law Noreen Hassan, participated in the demonstration. The protesters alleged that a lady constable, Kiran Irshad, registered a false narcotics case against Suraiya Rajput’s son, Imran Shafi, on the basis of a personal dispute, leading to his arrest.

According to the demonstrators, despite securing bail from a court, Imran Shafi was re-arrested with the alleged involvement of the same police official and was subjected to physical abuse.

The protesters further accused police personnel, including senior and junior clerks at the station, of repeatedly entering their homes along with the lady constable and harassing family members. They expressed fears that Imran Shafi could be implicated in further fabricated cases and alleged that serious threats had also been issued.

The demonstrators appealed to higher authorities to take immediate notice of the situation, conduct a transparent inquiry, and ensure their protection against any further alleged injustice.
