DC Sanghar Forms Committee to Address Issues of Persons with Disabilities

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sanghar Sarah Javed on Monday chaired an important meeting at her office to review and address the challenges faced by persons with disabilities across the district.


Speaking at the meeting, the DC announced the formation of a joint committee comprising representatives of organizations working for the rights of persons with disabilities and relevant government officials. The committee will work to ensure the availability of assistive devices and the provision of necessary facilities for differently-abled citizens.


She directed Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Abdul Majeed Zuhrani, Assistant Commissioners, Additional Director Social Welfare Muslim Farooq, and Deputy Director DEPB Sarfraz Shar to collaborate with representatives of disability organizations to prepare a comprehensive report. The report will focus on the establishment of ramps and accessibility features in all government offices across the district.


DC Sarah Javed also urged youth to use social media for positive purposes rather than wasting time, emphasizing the importance of focusing on English, Mathematics, and Science to strengthen their academic performance.


Representatives from various organizations, including Asha Independence Living Centre’s Mumtaz Mangi, Blind Association’s Abdul Karim Shar, Abbas Yousafzai, and Dua Organization’s Ghulam Ali Shah, attended the meeting along with heads of relevant departments.
