PPP Sanghar leadership condemns attack on MNA Salahuddin Junejo in AJK
SANGHAR (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leadership in Sanghar district has strongly condemned the reported attack on PPP MNA Salahuddin Junejo in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, terming it an assault on democratic values, political tolerance and the rule of law.
In a joint statement, PPP Sanghar district president Ali Hassan Hingorjo, General Secretary Jahangir Junejo and Information Secretary Imran Dhamrah said that resolving political differences through violence and the use of force was unacceptable in any democratic society.
They said such incidents were not only an attack on elected representatives but also a threat to the democratic system. They demanded that the federal and AJK governments, along with law enforcement agencies, conduct an immediate, transparent and impartial investigation into the incident and bring those responsible to justice.
The PPP leaders expressed their best wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured in the attack and said the party stood firmly with its leaders, workers and elected representatives against all forms of political violence, extremism and terrorism.
They reiterated that the PPP would continue its struggle for the protection of democratic principles in line with the political vision of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, based on democracy, tolerance and public service.
