Majlis-e-Aza, Mourning Procession Held on Chehlum of Imam Hussain (A.S.)

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) On the occasion of the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (A.S.), and following the government’s ban on road travel for pilgrimage during Arbaeen, mourning arrangements were made in various cities and towns across the country. In this regard, large numbers of foot processions from different areas of Tando Adam Taluka arrived at Azakhana Zahra, where a formal Majlis-e-Aza was held. The Majlis was addressed by Allama Akhtar Mashhadi, Molvi Allah Bux Mangrio, and Molana Muhammad Baqar Chandio, while Soz-o-Salaam was recited by Amir Rahoo and Hameer Ali Khan.

At the Mawkib set up at Azakhana Zahra, mourners were provided with Niaz, Sabeel, and complete food and drink facilities. Participants strongly condemned the government’s ban on road travel for pilgrimage, terming it an attack on religious freedom, and demanded its immediate withdrawal.

Later, a Chehlum mourning procession was taken out from Markazi Imambargah, which passed through the traditional routes. On the occasion, mourners performed chest-beating, Doneyri Patt (double-handed chest beating), and matam with zanjeer (blades) and gurz (clubs) as per tradition.
