Water Pipeline Bursts Again at Karachi University, Roads Turn into Pools, Supply Suspended
Malir (Desk Report) – A 36-inch water supply line at Karachi University burst once again, causing thousands of gallons of water to be wasted. Water Corporation officials shut off the supply after several hours and began repair work.
According to details, the leakage occurred in a 36-inch main line supplying water to Scheme 33, severely affecting the supply. Officials stated that repair work would be completed by Tuesday morning. On Monday, water was supplied to Scheme 33, and Tuesday is its scheduled supply day.
A Water Corporation spokesperson said that the affected line supplies water only to Scheme 33, so the rest of the city will not face any disruption. Water supply across the city continues as usual.
Meanwhile, due to the leakage, the Karachi University graveyard and the road leading to it have turned into a pond-like scene, with several graves partially submerged. Residents claim that leakage has also started from an 84-inch pipeline that was recently repaired.
