U.S. Is Equally Responsible for Israeli Attacks and Will Face Consequences: Iranian Foreign Minister
Tehran (Monitoring Desk) — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that the United States is equally complicit in the recent Israeli attacks and must be held accountable for the consequences.
Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Araghchi emphasized that Iran’s retaliatory strikes on Israel were conducted in accordance with international law and in self-defense, targeting Israeli military and economic sites.
He rejected U.S. claims of non-involvement, asserting that Washington played a direct role in the aggression. “The U.S. cannot distance itself from these attacks. It shares full responsibility and will have to face the outcomes,” Araghchi warned. He also urged the international community to strongly condemn the ongoing Israeli aggression against Iran.
Commenting on the Israeli strike on the Gulf gas field, he labeled it a highly dangerous act that could not have occurred without American support. “We possess evidence that confirms the U.S. backed this Israeli offensive,” he said.
Araghchi added that while Iran does not wish to expand the conflict to other countries, it will not hesitate to do so if provoked. “We are exercising our legitimate right to self-defense,” he stressed.
He further called on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to denounce Israel’s attack on the Natanz nuclear facility. “Iran will not accept any deal that deprives it of its peaceful nuclear rights,” he stated, adding that Israel had assassinated a key Iranian official to derail nuclear negotiations.
