Regional Director of Ombudsman Visits Taluka Hospital, Highlights Need for Staff and Budget Increase
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) The Regional Director of the Ombudsman Office Sanghar, Ghulam Shabbir Memon, paid a surprise visit to the Taluka Hospital Tando Adam during the evening shift to assess the healthcare facilities and services being provided.
Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr. Syed Fazal Mahmood Shah briefed the director about the current situation of the hospital. He informed that, on average, nearly 900 patients visit the Outpatient Department (OPD) daily, and around 25,000 patients receive treatment every month. Basic diagnostic services such as X-rays and ultrasounds are functional, and life-saving medicines are available in the store.
However, the MS highlighted a shortage in the supply of medicines due to limited budgetary allocations. He further stated that despite the shortage of doctors and medical staff, the hospital is striving to provide treatment to all incoming patients.
Dr. Fazal emphasized that Tando Adam is the most populous city in Sanghar district, making it essential to fill the vacant posts of doctors and paramedical staff. He also stressed the need for a significant increase in the medicines budget to cater to the growing number of patients effectively.
Earlier, the Regional Director also visited the Rural Health Center in Jhol, where he expressed satisfaction over the staff’s performance and praised the Health Department for their dedication and efforts.
Assistant Registrar Murtaza Memon also accompanied the director during the visits.
