Donkey Cart Owners of Tando Adam Protest Demolition of Old Stand

Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) Donkey cart owners held a strong protest rally against the decision of the Tando Adam Municipal Committee to demolish the decades-old donkey cart stand located on Sachal Sarmast Road.

The rally, led by Anwar Shah, Gulbahar Khoso, Rasool Chohan, Gulzar Khaskheli, Arbaz Khaskheli, Malik Arshad, and others, moved through the city and staged a sit-in in front of the Press Club and Municipal Office.

The protesting workers stated that the donkey cart stand has long served as a vital center for poor laborers who rely on it for their livelihood. They said the Muncipal decision to replace it with a commercial plaza would create unemployment and hardship for low-income families.

They demanded the immediate reversal of decision and warned that failure to do so would lead to a wider protest movement.

Several municipal councilors affiliated with the PPP Dero Group, including Lala Ayub Khan, Deen Muhammad Mari, Imtiaz Arain, Malik Taj, Malik Ismail, Amir Khasakheli and Abdul Rehman Ansari, joined the protest. They assured the donkey cart owners that they would not accept the demolition and auction of the historic stand under any circumstances.

Later, a delegation of councilors led by Lala Ayub Khan met with Municipal Chairman Ghulam Murtaza Junejo and presented the demands of the protesters. Following assurances from the chairman, the protest was temporarily called off.
