Sindh Employees’ Alliance strike enters 10th day; government offices remain shut
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) The province-wide strike called by the Sindh Employees’ Alliance (SEA) entered its tenth consecutive day on Thursday, bringing all major government departments to a standstill and causing severe inconvenience to the public.
According to reports, revenue, irrigation, public health, colleges, Taluka hospital, government high schools, and primary schools, among other provincial offices, remained closed due to the ongoing protest.
In Tando Adam, protesting employees gathered at the Government Sindhi Main Primary School, where leaders of various organisations, including PT ALF President Lakhadino Khaskheli, SPLA’s Zulfiqar Jatoi, GSTA leader Fazlullah Umrani, paramedical staff leader Haji Kandero, and revenue department’s Umer Farooq Arain, led the demonstration. Employees wore black armbands and chanted slogans against the provincial government.
Speaking on the occasion, the leaders said that despite entering the tenth day of the strike, the government has failed to respond to their demands. They accused the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah of misinforming PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari regarding the movement and their demands.
The leaders reiterated that their demands were legitimate and announced that a historic protest would be staged in Karachi on October 6. They further warned that if their demands were not met, they would march towards Bilawal House.
