Sanghar District Administration to Celebrate International Day of Persons with Disabilities with Sports Week

SANGHAR (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) The Sanghar district administration has announced plans to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities by organizing a week-long “Sports Week,” with preparations already underway.


Deputy Commissioner Sanghar, Sarah Javed, chaired a key meeting with representatives of organizations working for persons with disabilities to discuss their issues, available facilities, and measures for the promotion of sports. The meeting reviewed proposals for organizing various sports competitions, recreational activities, and awareness programs during the Sports Week, along with setting up food and cultural stalls at the stadium.


Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that persons with disabilities are an important part of society, and the district administration is taking all possible measures to highlight their abilities and provide them with equal opportunities. She added that individuals from across the district will be given the chance to showcase their talents.


The meeting was attended by Additional Director Social Welfare Muslim Farooq, Assistant Director Women Development Hina Khan, Deputy Director DEPD Sarfraz Shar, Principal Special Education Sanghar Barkat Mari, social activist Shumaila Arain, and heads of organizations for persons with disabilities including Mumtaz Mangi, Ghulam Ali Shah, Ahmed Khan, Abdul Karim Shar, Abbas, and others.
