Meeting Held Under DC Sanghar to Address Educational Reforms
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) A meeting of the District Reforms Oversight Committee was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khuwaja. Officials from the education department and other relevant departments attended the session.
The committee, tasked with monitoring the education sector and ensuring the implementation of educational plans, reviewed ongoing challenges and progress. Dr. Imran-ul-Hassan Khuwaja highlighted that while additional teachers have been deployed in many schools, some schools still face a shortage of teaching staff.
He emphasized the district administration's commitment to improving the education sector, prioritizing the reopening of closed schools and upgrading the condition of existing ones. All Assistant Commissioners were directed to visit schools in their respective areas, and action was ordered against absent teachers, including the suspension of their salaries.
The meeting was informed about 209 ongoing school repair projects, some of which have stalled due to funding constraints. Sanghar district has a total of 3,346 primary and high schools, with 284,716 students enrolled. While most schools have basic facilities, certain areas face shortages of amenities and furniture.
The session was attended by Chief Monitoring Officer Roshan Ali Kumbhar, all Assistant Commissioners, Education Officers, and Assistant Accounts Officer Muhammad Suleman Dero, along with Taluka Education Officer Secondary Khipro, Shabbir Ahmed Hangoro.
The DC reaffirmed the administration's focus on ensuring quality education and addressing issues hindering progress in the district's schools.
