SAFWCO celebrates Defense Day ceremony, vows to fight for stable economy

Hyderabad: Sindh Agriculture and Forestry Workers Coordination Organization (SAFWCO) in collaboration with Saeed Khan Enterprises organized a grand Defence Day ceremony at New Sabzi Mandi Karachi in which representatives of various banks and industries and respected citizens participated and paid tribute to the spirit of September 6 and the sacrifices of the martyrs.

According to a statement issued by the SAFWCO Head Office, Hyderabad, Defence Day of Pakistan is celebrated every year on September 6 to pay tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs of September 6, 1965. Following the successful Independence Day celebrations, SAFWCO, in collaboration with the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund and the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection, organized an event with its communities with a commitment to peace, development, prosperity and unity, which was attended by officials from various banks and representatives of civil society.

Saeed Khan, CEO of Saeed Khan Enterprises, in his keynote address, commended SAFWCO for organizing the Defence Day event and highlighting the importance of unity, resilience and sacrifice while remembering the spirit of September 6, saying that this day reminds us that just as our armed forces stand for the strength of the country, today we too must unite to strengthen our economy.

GRASP Project Manager Mustafa Hassan Rajpar gave a brief introduction to the SAFWCO Group, highlighting SAFWCO’s services over the past four decades, which include improving the rural economy, financially empowering people, and creating employment opportunities. He said that SAFWCO’s mission of developing the rural economy and communities is a continuation of the spirit of Defence Day, which aims to protect and build a strong Pakistan for generations to come.

Among the distinguished guests, Roshan Enterprise CEO Khalid Ijaz and FA International Spokesperson Sameer highlighted the Defence Day in their speeches and congratulated the small business owners on winning the GRASP Grant and appreciated the transparency and monitoring process in this regard.

The Chief Guest, Vice Chairman All Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Association Fahad Iqbal, appreciated the efforts of SAFWCO and GRASP and congratulated the small traders on their success in securing the grant and offered his organization’s support for similar initiatives in the future. He added that celebrating Defense Day through such programs strengthens the spirit of unity, patriotism and the commitment to build a prosperous Pakistan, which shows that today’s real defense lies in building strong communities and sustainable businesses.
