Theft and Vandalism Reported at Tando Adam Girls School, Head Mistress Seeks Action Against Suspects
Sanghar (Hasnain Ashiq Saand) The headmistress of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Girls High School Tando Adam, Raheela Memon, has submitted a written complaint to education authorities, law enforcement agencies, elected representatives, and the local press club, urging immediate action over incidents of theft and alleged vandalism at the school.
In her application, Memon stated that the institution is a key educational facility in Tando Adam, catering to around 1,000 female students. However, she highlighted that the school is facing severe shortages of basic facilities, including a permanent electricity connection, clerk, peon, and watchman, which is affecting its administrative and academic functioning.
She further alleged that a local youth, Shahid Baloch, was temporarily engaged to assist in administrative matters as a naib qasid (attendant), but later began interfering in school affairs and retained additional keys to the premises. According to the complaint, following a theft incident involving two fans and pieces of furniture, he was removed from his responsibilities.
The headmistress also claimed that subsequent incidents of damage occurred at the school, including alleged sabotage of the solar power system, cutting of solar panel wiring, and disruption of the electricity setup. As a result, water motors, coolers, fans, and the solar system were reportedly damaged, causing financial losses to the institution.
Memon added that former Senator Imamuddin Shaukeen had previously donated 22 air-conditioner/DC fans and 55 benches for students, which had significantly improved the learning environment.
She has called for an impartial investigation into the incidents, legal action against those found responsible, and compensation for the damages to ensure that the education of students is not disrupted and a safe academic environment is maintained.
